Hello, this is ASCII, with a quick developer update for Team Kanohi! In this video I’ll be covering 3 topics Status on Trials of the Great spirit, Status on Legacy Masks of Power, and an update on our team. First on the List is Trials of the Great Spirit. The project is now in Pre-Alpha, meaning we don’t have all of the code and gameplay finished, but we know what’s left and how to do it. Currently the last of the Toa abilities are being completed, and will be followed up with a polishing pass to make them
look and sound more interesting. As of now the movement abilities are all working, and only 2 remaining masks are needed for playtesting. Combat still requires work on elemental powers, as well as polish, but is otherwise very stable and has few bugs. When the character abilities are playable, the remainder of the trials will be designed and playtested internally. During the trial playtesting period, developers will continue work on a few other areas like, updating the HUD, the save/load system, and adding in a few placeholder art assets. When these all come together, we should be ready for release 1 of TOGS. We will keep our roadmap updated regularly if you want to see daily progress and more specific details on our to-do list. Link to the roadmap will be in the description and in our Discord. Next, an update on the current state and future of Legacy. At the moment, the Legacy team is working on a large update to the game. After this next release, we will be working on smaller, more frequent updates. Including the one we’re working on now, these will each be themed around different regions of Mata-Nui – such as Po-Wahi and Ta-Wahi and will include new areas to explore and changes to existing environments. We’ll be improving villages and adding quests, as well as interesting landmarks with hidden secrets. In these updates, we’ll also be making changes to assist new and current players such as adding a Tutorial and a much requested Map. We hope to have a new release out as soon as possible, with smaller themed updates following in the future. Third on our list is a special call to action for the creatives in the Bionicle community. We are in need of more team members and are ready to expand! Currently the roles we’re looking to fill are: 3D Artists with experience in organic and environment modeling 3D artists for character props and hard surface modeling 2D concept artists for both props and environments Character animators Level designers and artists familiar with UE4 Sound designers and producers and Programmers Familiar with VFX in Unreal Engine 4, using Cascade or Niagara We’ll have a link to the application form in the description, and we look forward to hearing your responses!
