This week on TGC News, a bunch of new handguns
and a bunch of new rifles, coming your way, after the jump! Welcome back to another episode of TGC News,
the only gun news show that covers things you actually care about, my name is Jon Patton. It has been a while since I’ve seen you
guys. You look great. I like what you’ve done with your hair. Alright before we get into some news, I highly
recommend you all go check out our coverage from this year’s SHOT show. We covered a bunch of new rad stuff, so go
give it a look. Now, stuff we missed at SHOT. First, a new one from Mossberg. It was about a year ago that we saw the MC1SC
hit the market aimed at taking market share from the likes of Glock 43 and Smith & wesson
Shield, and to be honest, I’m not sure how big of a chunk they took. Maybe guns that work at gun counters can weigh
in on that. However, I do know that I personally really
liked the gun. The trigger was nice, it took Glock 43 mags
and the grip was nice too. Well now they’ve introduced the MC2c. Sort of a medium sized version of the MC1. The major changes besides the bump in size,
a 4 inch barrel, 13 round mags with 15 round extendos available, and that’s pretty much
it. It still has the flat face trigger, and options
for cross bolt safety which didn’t make sense before and still doesn’t, a couple two tone
options and one with fancy night sights. Pricing for the base model is 490 bucks MSRP,
up to 595 for the model with the truglo sights. So let’s call it a 450 dollar gun on dealer
shelves, is this enough to tackle the likes of the VP9, the Glock 19, the M&P or even
the affordable Taurus G3, I have my suspicions that it will fall short on those challenges. Also in the news, a new version of one of
my favorite handguns, the Wilson Combat EDC X9. We saw the addition of the EDC X9L not too
long ago and now there’s the EDC X9S. You guys are smart so I’m sure you get that
this is a subcompact version of the gun. It seems they’ve gone a bit farther than just
chopping length off the muzzle and grip. Instead of having removable grip panels, this
is a solid aluminum frame that is meant to be as slim as possible. And at 1.25inches, i’d say they did a pretty
good job on that. The gun also comes standard with a 10 round
and a 15 round magazine. They’ve also trimmed down the controls across
the board. Other than that, it’s got things you would
expect from Wilson like the fluted barrel, nice texturing all over and a fantastic trigger. The thing that always brings us back to reality
with the Wilson guns is the price. The base MSRP on the X9S is 2695. And rounding out our handguns this week, is
a unique take on a single shot pistol. Imagine someone that barely knew about guns
tried to explain to someone that was drunk what a handgun looked like and how it functioned,
and then that drunk tried to draw a picture of it. That’s what the Altor Pistol looks like. It’s also only got 6 parts total. It’s quite possibly the most simple thing
that wasn’t made by a guy with a welder in his garage. The way I see it, this is NOT meant to be
a primary sidearm. You literally have to twist the barrel to
move the gun from safe to fire. There is also no trigger guard and the trigger
itself is just a little tiny nub under the rear of the barrel. It is strange, but because I like strange
guns, I want one. The pricing is also pretty interesting. The 9mm version is 129 bucks and the 380 is
119. I really don’t think this is going to be
viable for a lot of folks, especially with the HUGE amount of good, small guns on the
market these days. However, goofy stuff is always fun to share
with you guys. I want to hear your thoughts on these new
handguns, are any of them tickling your fancy? Do you prefer not to have your fancy tickled? Sound off below with your thoughts! We have a ton more to cover so let’s keep
it rolling. Franklin Armory just released a new trigger
at SHOT show called the BFS3 22C1. Its terrible product name for a binary trigger
for one of the most popular rifles on the planet. The Ruger 10/22, AND its clones. It’s the same as all of the other triggers
that franklin armory makes, 3 modes, safe, semi and binary, and in binary it will fire
on the pull and on the release of the trigger. It also has the unfortunate reality of being
expensive just like all of the others. It’s not listed on their website yet but I’ve
seen it on sale for 299 bucks. I think it’s a neat idea, but I have a hard
time accepting a trigger that’s more expensive than the rifle it’s made for. Henry Repeating Arms has a new series of rifles
called Model X. The long and short of these is that they are
all black, have polymer furniture that includes a little section of picatinny rail under the
nose and has a threaded barrel on the rifle versions. They are available in the Big Boy pistol caliber
variant, the Lever Action 4570 variant and the 410 version. All of them come with fiber optic sights and
the ability to load from the tube OR from the side of the gun. Pricing on these comes in at 970 bucks MSRP. I think a pistol caliber version might be
in order for me. There’s also a new one from Daniel Defense
called the PDW. Long story short, it’s a 7 inch 300 blackout
tiny boy with either a Maxim Defense brace or stock. They are also using a linear comp instead
of a muzzle brake likely to help reduce people getting hurt from blast on a tiny set up like
this. The MSRP on the PDW is 1865 for the brace
version OR 1935 for the SBR version. And rounding us out, Benelli, best known for
their shotguns, has released a new bolt action rifle called the Lupo. I gotta tell you, it’s got some interesting
features. First off, you’ll be able to get it in 3
different calibers. 3006, 300 win mag, and 270 winchester. The 270 and 06 will have 22 inch barrels and
the win mag will have a 24 inch. All of which are threaded to accept a shusher
device. Moving back from there, you have a steel main
receiver and an aluminum lower receiver which is where the stock and forend attach. This means you can free-float the barrel and
do some interesting stuff with the stock portion like using a similar drop and cast adjustment
to shotguns. They also have a recoil absorbing damper on
the rear and a soft cheek pad on the top of the stock. They’re claiming a 3 shot sub MOA guarantee
as well so i’m assuming that this thing will be a great rifle, and it should be for the
MSRP of 1699. And now, as you guys requested, Patton’s
Armory. This is a segment where I grab one of my personal guns and tell you guys about it. This bad Larry is a 500 magnum from Smith
& Wesson. It happens to be part of their performance
center line so the actions all tuned up got a really really nice trigger on it. It’s got the non fluted cylinder, and the
three and a half inch non-ported non-braked barrel. Now this is one that I got in for a test that
we are going to be doing very very soon with some 500 magnum ammunition, and probably some
rad slow-mo. I mean this is one of those guns that’s small
enough to be sort of a guide gun like you could you know keep this in a chest rig and
if you’re out in like Bear Country or something like that you could easily carry this and
it would take down anything in North America providing you could hit it. This is just one of those really fun guns
that I wanted to have as part of my collection and I somehow convinced Smith & Wesson to
send one over. Honestly they may ask for this back at some
point, and I may just try and buy it from them. This is a really cool gun in a really cool
caliber is simple but it is very nice. If you guys enjoyed this little look at my
guns, and want to see more, let me know in the comments. This time our questions are coming from the
TGC facebook page, go follow us over there if you haven’t. I took this question not because of the main
ask but moreso to address a point. I have no experience with canon safes. I wanted to take this as a chance to tell
you all that that gun number, in this case a 64 gun safe, is total BS. If you have any AR’s or guns that aren’t
old school bolt actions or shotguns, that number is total nonsense. Just get the biggest safe you can afford and
that you can fit through the doors in your house. Its between the 500 blackout from CROM or
the Laugo Alien. Side note, I’m working on getting a hold
of an alien for some video very soon. Yes and no. Its sort of a catch 22. The massive uptick we got in 5.7 chambered
guns will likely fuel higher demand for ammo, so
initially pricing could go up. But if companies like federal ramp up production,
that could drop quickly after the initial bump. I for one am hoping to see 5.7 drop below
the price of 5.56 ammo but only time will tell on that one. and if you want to ask a friendly fire question, send it to me over on! That is it for this week’s show. I would love it if you guys hit the like button
to show your support and if you think we’ve earned it, get subscribed as well. As always, thank you all for watching. We’ll see you soon.

Can you blame Mossberg for a cross bolt safety, they're thinking of these a little shot guns, they probably run snake shot in theirs…

Rex Ferguson · February 10, 2020 at 9:37 pm

Anyone else noticing weird audio levels?

Ben Griffith · February 10, 2020 at 9:38 pm

Yes! Thanks as always!

Adrian Alexandrino · February 10, 2020 at 9:38 pm

Where's the lawyer

TheGunSnob · February 10, 2020 at 9:38 pm

I got one of the Altor 9mm's sent to me after SHOT it is interesting to shoot to say the least I shot rounds through it testing it for my video that is not a fun gun to shoot

Jake Cain · February 10, 2020 at 9:39 pm

Altor should turn their gun into a cane gun

ICFDaveHere · February 10, 2020 at 9:40 pm

Lay off the brain pills ok?

Bobby · February 10, 2020 at 9:40 pm

Ok the Altor is weird but if you put a suppessor on then It could be a modern wellrod interpretation?

Robert · February 10, 2020 at 9:40 pm

I think the drunk pistol will take some stock away from the Contender and similar single shots as test guns for reloaders, assuming they come out with more barrels and calibers

Paelorian · February 10, 2020 at 9:42 pm

For the price of that CIA Deer Gun knockoff you can buy a real gun, like a Hi-Point or maybe something better used. The price of the EDCX9S is extreme, but it's a great gun if you can afford it and like a manual safety. I don't. Let me know if it's ever DA/SA decocker-only like a more modern hammered gun. Especially if they get thickness and weight competitive with other subcompacts.

ten littleindians · February 10, 2020 at 9:42 pm

I'd buy that weird pistol just for it's value down the road after they discontinue it.

Von Doom · February 10, 2020 at 9:42 pm

Im liking the return of lever actions

J · February 10, 2020 at 9:42 pm

The Altor Corp looks like the “featureless handgun” California legislator’s would push for.

Snooze · February 10, 2020 at 9:44 pm

PSA DAGR9 or the PSA JAKL in 5.56

Alex Agius · February 10, 2020 at 9:45 pm

As i see it the binary stuff is competing with the tranferabe FA market and when you consider that no price comes close, a trigger that costs more than the gun? yeah in the transferable world you have trigger packs that cost more than their weight in gold.

iLikeEatPoo Jason · February 10, 2020 at 9:46 pm

I’d get the 338 MG.

Chris Blake · February 10, 2020 at 9:48 pm

All of them have points of interest, but that Wilson is so damn expensive!

4thbalanceofpower · February 10, 2020 at 9:49 pm

B&T APC10 Because 10mm

SynthWarrior21 · February 10, 2020 at 9:50 pm

For me that gun would be the POF rouge. I need a long range rifle. I don't like heavy things. So a 5.9 pound ar10 sounds great. Especially want to start putting accessories on it. I bet I could have all the tacticool bells and whistles and probably come under 10 pounds

James H. · February 10, 2020 at 9:50 pm

Stop with the fear grimmice soy boy tthumbnails

Barrandill T'Anathlas · February 10, 2020 at 9:51 pm

There seems to be a lot of shooters who like to add a red dot sight to their handgun, didn't see any cuts to attach a RDS on the Mossberg.

Nathan Monroe · February 10, 2020 at 9:51 pm

Mossberg 940 because I love shotguns, and the 930 was dang near perfect. Hopefully the 940 is as good as it looks

James Dean · February 10, 2020 at 9:52 pm

Excellent back business as usual. Glad you're not shilling Ephedrine again.

I'd have to say the Alien pistol as it looks like it would be great fun

Brixx · February 10, 2020 at 9:52 pm

I really want the PSA Krinkov from shot show myself.

Fafhrd Kreig · February 10, 2020 at 9:53 pm

Dr.Catmilk · February 10, 2020 at 9:53 pm

Mg338, more dakka

Frank · February 10, 2020 at 9:53 pm

How many sales did Mossberg take from S&W and Glock because of the MC1?….we sold 2…..2 god damn Mossberg MC1's…and i don't work in a little store/range either….we have 40 lanes and a 10,000 sq ft area that's a gun store…as for the safes and their holding capability….whatever number you see on the safe (for instance a 40 gun safe)…cut whatever number they listed in HALF and that's close to the number of long guns you can fit in it

Msd42276 Decoop · February 10, 2020 at 9:54 pm

Mossberg picked a bad time to unveil a new carry gun with the psa glock clone out now. It’s priced just out of the cheap gun market and the mid range market is swarmed.

The single shot handgun is weird at an extremely low price. I don’t think many will go looking for them but it’s one of those things if you see it in a cabinet at your dealer, you may find it hard to say no. (I want to see one suppressed)

The Wilson combat is nice and they know who they are selling them to.

I’m no longer impressed by pdws. It takes something very different to get my attention. Especially at the price point they all seem to be asking.

I definitely want to see you suppress that Henry X.

Beneli rifle looks nice and beneli does put good quality into their guns. The price is a little steep for the everyday hunter but it’s clear they plan to market to the fuds(get a bolt gun made by the same company that makes you bird gun)

Apocalyptic Bone-Daddy · February 10, 2020 at 9:55 pm

That one .50 Beowulf AK

or the Zastava M91

Cao Len · February 10, 2020 at 9:55 pm

Jon's description of that awful glue/caulk altor pistol is perfect haha. It makes the hi point look like a Lamborghini lol.

bradley fox · February 10, 2020 at 10:05 pm

I would pick the alien pistol that Lancer is importing. The bore axis being so low and it’s innovative design would be new for the gun world. I hope you get your hands on one!

JamesThorWolf · February 10, 2020 at 10:06 pm

The one I'd pick is the 500 blackout simply cause I own a 50bmg and reload for it and have the tools to make brass for the 500 blackout. So win all around for me

Holland · February 10, 2020 at 10:09 pm

Honestly the PSA JAKL is the one that piqued my interest most as far as new announcements go. It's like a 300blk mini-SCAR/Bren that fits onto a standard lower, I'm really digging it.
If we're talking stuff that was announced before SHOT, I'd like to get my hands on a WWSD 2020.

Jason Weaver · February 10, 2020 at 10:10 pm

Colt python. I'm a revolver and lever guy

Elizabeth McHeffey · February 10, 2020 at 10:13 pm

The stoner63 because it’s a stoner 63 and of course would have to get the Bren conversion as well!!! All a pipe dream anyhow NY won’t allow it and there’s only 200 to be made 😩

Gary Lankford · February 10, 2020 at 10:14 pm

JAKL 5.56 Affordable, AR type (and mostly reverse compatible) long stroke gas system with left-side (the right side) charging and in a pistol conformation.

Marcolmar Firearms CETME LC is the one I am buying from Shot Show, the later this year the PSA JAKL in 223

I'm not really impressed with the company either. I messaged them for a comment for a review on the situation one would use this pistol in. No reply.

Schregger · February 10, 2020 at 10:29 pm

Honestly, thinking back on them all, it would have to be either the PSA JAKL in .300 Blackout or the PSA AK-E. I dont have a .30 cal can (or any can, for that matter), so likely the AK-E.

I know everyone is worried about another Whiskey Warrior, but this one sounds legit. If they're able to follow through with what they're doing it sets a precedent that won't be reversed.

Canon safes are not junk! My safe slid down the stairs landed in the rocks and spent two weeks outside in the rain and still works perfectly! Its almost ten years old now and the only issue was at first the keypad freezed up… I called the manufacturer and they paid for a locksmith to install a new pad. Its been great ever since!

Haden Lade · February 10, 2020 at 10:34 pm

I'd want the PSA notaglock two of them

Thomas Grimes · February 10, 2020 at 10:35 pm

Altor may be very odd but high point is profitable every year!

valiantsloth · February 10, 2020 at 10:35 pm

I got a cannon safe about 7 years ago. I haven't had any issues. It seals well and is pretty solid. I have it a bit over loaded, so the locking mechanism hangs up a little here and there from the weight pushing on the door, but that is the only complaint. Probably should get another one to free up some space, but I can still fit a few more handguns on the shelf, so another safe will have to wait.

Trevor Combs · February 10, 2020 at 10:36 pm

I’d take the ak103 clone or the psa jakl. Psa came hard in the paint this year at shot show

Benjamin Honts · February 10, 2020 at 10:39 pm

Largo Alien because i like seeing freedom packages that have the low recoil and want to see more in freedom package with bigger caliber because that's were it matters. I personal think the smaller calibers have less of a need for this ergonomics because they are already made to be low recoil. I understand it compliments eachother but i really want one in 10mm or 50AE something that needs more of the lower recoil for a follow up shot. Maybe its just me.

Hunter Ray · February 10, 2020 at 10:39 pm

A good use I could see for the Altor is a Snake gun but I’d want it in either a .410 or at the very least .45 for the snake shot rounds exist.

baggy169 · February 10, 2020 at 10:41 pm

I’d take an Alien, if they were just gonna give it to me. The current price tag is ridiculously prohibitive in my opinion. That being said, the gun is just badass! Probably the most innovative pea shooter I’ve ever seen. I’m gonna have to add one to the collection at some point. In the long gun area, I’m dyin to get my hands on a Marlin Dark Series levergun. Leaning towards 30-30, but a 45-70 is just a beast, so that’s a possibility too. Regardless of caliber, it would have to take a trip to Madpig for them to work their magic on.
